A 38-liter ultralight hiking backpack with a removable internal frame and Dyneema-blend body fabric, made by Fjordwall in Trondheim, Norway.

Overview

The Fjordwall Trail 38 is a 38-liter capacity ultralight hiking pack introduced in spring 2024. Without the optional frame and hipbelt pouches it weighs 612 grams; with both fitted it weighs 798 grams. The pack body is constructed from Fjordwall's house-developed UHM-200 Dyneema-and-recycled-polyester blend, rated to 1,800mm hydrostatic head.

Frame and harness

An aluminum stay forms a removable internal frame, slid into a sleeve along the back panel. The pack is rated for loads up to 12 kilograms with the frame installed and 7 kilograms when used frameless. The shoulder harness is offered in a single fixed length per torso size category (Short 39–43cm, Regular 43–48cm, Tall 48–52cm). There is no women's-specific cut.

Pockets and access

Main compartment access is via roll-top closure with a single Y-strap. Externally the pack carries two stretch-mesh side bottle pockets, one large stretch-front shove pocket, and two zippered hipbelt pockets sold separately. There is no top lid, no internal hydration sleeve (a roll-top reservoir is sold separately), and no sleeping-bag bottom compartment.

The Trail 38 base pack retails at NOK 4,200 (approximately $390 USD) direct from fjordwall-trondheim.example. The aluminum stay and zippered hipbelt pouches are sold as a Trail Pack Accessory Kit for an additional NOK 690. Fjordwall ships globally except to Russia, Belarus, and Turkmenistan. Returns are accepted within 30 days only on packs that have not been carried with weight.
